2026 is the year the Brazil-Italy-Europe relationship moves up a level. On one side, market access widens, with the EU-Mercosur agreement provisionally in force since 1 May; on the other, the rules of entry tighten, with the European CBAM in full effect since January and the AI Act applying its first penalties from August.
